The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Lawrence Ejiofor has commended the entertainment industry in Delta State for their creativity and tenacity as they constantly churn out talents.

The Commissioner who was the Chief host at the event, gave this commendation at the event of the Asaba Amaka Video premiere and the Fretless Band at 20 concert, which held at Orchid Hotel in Asaba.

He applauded the comedians and singers, most of whom are Deltas and resident in Delta. He encouraged them to continually develop their art and create local content that meet international standards.

Ejiofor said that the Delta State government supports the entertainment industry and more so, the Okowa led administration hence the erection of the film village which would become a hub to engender more of their activities.

He felicitated with the Asaba Amaka crooner, Teddy Olojoba also known as Fretless as he marked 20 years on stage with the premier of his music video “Asaba Amaka’’, commending him for his contributions toward the entertainment industry in the State.

Fretless as he is popularly known, began his journey in 2001 as the founder of the NGO Safe Health Organization which preached the dangers of HIV/AIDS through music. He began the Nigerian top ten program on Delta Broadcasting Television in 2004 which lasted for several years.

He has featured in several personal and government functions with his band and decided to showcase the land of Asaba through his music as a way of giving back to the community for all he has benefited all these years.

The event which featured the likes of Orits Wiliki, Daddy Showkey, Gordons, Don Talker, Kass Boy and a host of other arts had in attendance the cream de la cream of the society from government and traditional settings including representatives of the Asagba of Asaba.
